Recipe: LEBANESE GREEN BEANS

Summary: SERVE WITH PITA BREAD,GREEN ONIONS, SLICED TOMATOES AND CUCUMBERS

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound green beans
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 5 whole gloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 5 ripe tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Wash the beans, remove the stems and cut in half. Fry the onions in the oil until tender. Add the green beans and saute for 10 minutes. Add the tomatoes and the garlic and cook for 10 minutes. Add the water,salt and both peppers. Cook on medium heat for 25 minutes until tender.
